Tangier’s Maghogha district is set to host the third edition of the Maghogha Festival of Excellence and Creativity from July 26 to 30, 2026, under a theme focused on promoting excellence, empowering young people and strengthening community engagement, as part of Morocco’s Throne Day celebrations.
The festival will officially open on Sunday, July 26, in the square adjacent to the Youth Training and Integration Center in Maghogha, with the Moroccan national anthem, welcoming speeches by organizers and partners, artistic performances, a children’s carnival and the inauguration of a visual arts exhibition highlighting the work of young local artists.
Environmental education forms a key component of this year’s programme. On Monday, July 27, children and participants will take part in an educational visit to the “Darna” environmental garden on Achakar Road, designed to promote environmental awareness and responsible citizenship. On Tuesday, July 28, the Youth Training and Integration Center will host a roundtable discussion entitled “Youth and Community Work: Between Reality and Impact”, bringing together participants to discuss the role of young people in civil society and local development.
The festival’s cultural activities will continue on Wednesday, July 29, with the screening and discussion of a youth-focused film exploring issues relevant to younger generations. The event will conclude on Thursday, July 30, with a closing ceremony featuring musical and artistic performances, tributes to distinguished local and national figures and an awards ceremony honoring outstanding students from the Maghogha area for their academic achievements.
Organizers aim for the third edition of the Maghogha Festival of Excellence and Creativity to further establish the event as a platform that combines culture, education, arts and community action, while encouraging youth participation and supporting local initiatives that contribute to the social and cultural development of Tangier.
