Residents of Fahs-Anjra call for the swift launch of the bus route linking Fnideq and Tanger Med

    ayaJuly 23, 2026

Residents of Morocco’s Fahs-Anjra Province have renewed their calls for the rapid implementation of the public bus route connecting the city of Fnideq with the Tanger Med Port, arguing that delays in enforcing the already approved partnership agreement continue to affect daily mobility, particularly for workers, students and low-income families.

The renewed demand follows the approval of a partnership agreement to establish the new route as part of efforts to expand the public transport network between neighboring municipalities. However, the project has yet to become operational despite years of requests from local communities.

Local stakeholders believe the new service would significantly improve public transportation, reduce reliance on taxis, lower commuting costs and strengthen connections between Fnideq, Tanger Med Port, the passenger terminal and surrounding areas, supporting the region’s growing economic activity.
