OS Prod has unveiled the official poster for the Moroccan short film “Moro”, a 17-minute drama directed by Nabil El Hamri and co-produced with Yassine El Halimi. The film explores migration, identity and human dignity through a deeply personal story.
The story follows Mohamed, a young Moroccan who leaves his homeland for Spain in search of a better future. His hopes are quickly challenged when he encounters discrimination and exclusion while working in a Spanish restaurant, turning his journey into a struggle to defend his dignity and affirm his identity.
Throughout the film, Mohamed draws strength from the memories of his grandfather, a former resistance fighter whose legacy inspires him to confront prejudice and adversity. The narrative highlights themes of belonging, resilience and the idea that human dignity transcends borders.
The cast features Mohamed Khiy, Omar Ben Taleb, Julia Pérez Beltrán, José Herman, and Amber Bentaleb. The screenplay was written by Yassine El Halimi, while Hicham El Halimi served as assistant director and editor. The film reflects the growing interest of Moroccan cinema in addressing contemporary social and humanitarian issues through compelling storytelling.
