OCP Nutricrops and Koch Ag & Energy Solutions have signed a new investment agreement involving Jorf Fertilizers Company 1 (JFC I), paving the way for the creation of a jointly owned 50-50 operating venture.
The agreement builds on the strategic partnership established in 2022 and will increase the combined annual production capacity of the two joint ventures to approximately 2.5 million metric tons of phosphate fertilizers at the Jorf Lasfar industrial complex, one of the world’s largest fertilizer production hubs.
The new venture is intended to strengthen the supply of phosphate-based plant nutrition products to global markets, particularly North America, while supporting more resilient agricultural supply chains and long-term food security.
The transaction remains subject to customary legal and regulatory approvals before it can be finalized.
