Police services in Tangier arrested, on Thursday, July 16, the main suspect in a case involving the robbery of a mobile phone under the threat of a bladed weapon, following investigative operations conducted by law enforcement authorities.
The arrest comes after a juvenile suspected of participating in the robbery was taken into custody on July 11, while the principal suspect remained at large. Both individuals appeared in a video circulated on social media showing a young man being robbed of his mobile phone while threatened with a knife.
Police investigations led to the identification, location, and arrest of the main suspect, who has a criminal record and is known by the nickname “Rubio.”
The suspect has been placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office to establish all the circumstances surrounding the case and determine any criminal liability.
