Officers from the Public Security Investigation Unit of the Tangier Police Prefecture arrested, on Thursday evening, July 16, a man suspected of involvement in a robbery committed with violence and under the threat of a bladed weapon.
The investigation was launched after a video circulated on social media showing a motorcycle delivery rider claiming that he had been robbed in the Marshan area after being threatened with a knife.
Police investigations led to the identification and arrest of the suspect in the Achakar area. Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect has a criminal record and is known by the nickname “Jitli”.
The suspect has been placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office to determine all the circumstances of the case and establish any criminal responsibility.
