Morocco Signs Legal Framework for Participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza

    ayaJuly 15, 2026

Morocco signed on Wednesday the agreement establishing the legal framework governing its participation in the International Stabilization Force in the Gaza Strip, in implementation of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces and Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.

The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the National Defense Administration during a meeting attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita and Minister Delegate in charge of the National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi, who received Nikolay Mladenov, High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, accompanied by a high-level delegation, in the presence of senior Moroccan military officials.

According to a statement issued by the National Defense Administration, the agreement reflects Morocco’s commitments as a founding member of the Peace Council and follows the Royal directives announced during the Council’s inaugural meeting held in Washington.

During the meeting, the Moroccan side stressed that its participation reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to the principles of peace, international cooperation and solidarity, while highlighting Morocco’s extensive experience in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Officials from the Gaza Peace Council welcomed Morocco’s contribution, which includes the deployment of senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces, personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate of National Security, in addition to the establishment of a field military hospital. The signed agreement provides the legal, technical and operational framework governing Morocco’s participation in the mission.
