A security source within the Tangier Police Prefecture has denied reports claiming that additional police officers from other cities had been deployed to support ongoing security operations in Tangier, stressing that all field operations are being carried out using the Prefecture’s own human and logistical resources.
The clarification follows the circulation of media reports alleging that outside police reinforcements had been mobilized to assist in a broad security campaign targeting wanted individuals and drug trafficking activities.
According to the source, all field interventions are part of the Tangier Police Prefecture’s routine operational responsibilities and are conducted by its various security units under well-prepared operational plans and with a high degree of professionalism, without the need for external support.
The source added that publishing unverified information without consulting the competent security authorities may undermine the daily efforts undertaken by law enforcement services to combat crime, preserve public order and reinforce public confidence in security.
The Tangier Police Prefecture reaffirmed that it will continue implementing its security operations across the city’s neighborhoods in accordance with its operational strategy, while calling on media outlets and the public to rely on official sources when reporting on security-related matters in order to ensure accuracy and credibility.
