Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of Morocco’s National Security and Territorial Surveillance, has granted an exceptional promotion to a police officer from the Kenitra Police Prefecture who was seriously injured in a traffic accident while performing road checkpoint duties on July 10.
The decision was made in accordance with the legal provisions governing the General Directorate of National Security and reflects the institution’s commitment to protecting and honoring police officers who are injured while carrying out their professional responsibilities in the service of public safety.
Under the exceptional promotion, the officer, previously holding the rank of Chief Police Inspector, was promoted to the rank of Police Officer in recognition of his professionalism, dedication, and selfless commitment displayed while performing his official duties.
Hammouchi also instructed the General Directorate’s medical and social services, in coordination with the Kenitra Police Prefecture, to provide the injured officer with full medical and social support, including covering all treatment and hospitalization expenses. The officer remains in intensive care after sustaining a skull fracture and multiple fractures to his limbs and chest as a result of the accident.
