Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology has forecast a gradual drop in temperatures starting on Friday, July 10, signaling the beginning of the end of the heatwave that has affected several regions of the country over the past few days.
According to the forecast, temperatures will decline across many northern, central and Atlantic coastal cities. Highs are expected to remain around 26°C in Tangier, Rabat and Casablanca, while Agadir will reach 27°C and Kenitra 28°C, bringing noticeably milder weather.
Southern and southeastern regions, however, will continue to experience hot conditions. Oussed is forecast to record the country’s highest temperature at 44°C, followed by Errachidia at 39°C and Bouarfa, Taounate and Ouarzazate at 37°C.
Meteorologists expect temperatures to continue easing gradually over the weekend across much of Morocco, although the southern provinces are likely to remain under the influence of persistently hot weather.
