Tangier: Observers Question the Pace of Police Action in Hararine Robbery Case

    ayaJuly 7, 2026

The armed robbery reported in the Hararine district of Tangier continues to generate public discussion, more than two weeks after a video showing the alleged suspects fleeing the scene circulated on social media.

Several local observers have expressed surprise that no official announcement regarding arrests has been issued so far, raising questions about the pace of the investigation despite the availability of digital evidence recorded by the victim.

According to those following the case, the footage appears to provide material evidence that could assist investigators, as the faces of the two individuals are reportedly visible and the vehicle’s license plate can also be clearly seen.

Some commentators have also referred to information circulating online suggesting that the vehicle may belong to the fleet of a car rental agency. They argue that such information could potentially help identify the individuals involved, given the legal obligations imposed on rental companies to keep customer records. However, these claims have not been officially confirmed.

Observers have further highlighted the seriousness of the incident, stating that the video appears to show dangerous driving during the escape, allegedly causing damage to the victim’s vehicle and creating risks for other road users.

In addition, various social media users have claimed to recognize the individuals shown in the footage and have alleged that they may have been involved in similar incidents in the past. These assertions remain unverified and should be treated as allegations pending the outcome of the official investigation.

Observers emphasize that raising these questions is not intended to undermine the efforts of the security services, but rather reflects public expectations for a swift and effective judicial process capable of reassuring residents and reinforcing confidence in the rule of law.
