Fuel prices in Morocco are expected to decrease from July 1, according to information circulating among fuel distribution professionals. The anticipated reduction follows weeks of price increases driven by volatility in international oil markets.
Industry sources indicate that diesel prices could fall by around 0.45 Moroccan dirhams per liter, while gasoline prices may decline by approximately 0.50 dirhams per liter. Minor differences between service stations may occur depending on each company’s pricing policy.
The expected decline is linked to lower crude oil prices on global markets and reduced import costs for refined petroleum products, following a gradual easing of geopolitical tensions that had previously pushed oil prices higher.
Fuel prices in Morocco rose significantly during June as international crude prices increased. However, Brent crude has recently fallen back to around 67 to 68 US dollars per barrel, paving the way for a possible reduction in pump prices.
Motorists and transport professionals are now awaiting the official price adjustment, hoping it will help reduce transportation costs across the country.
