Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman has expressed confidence ahead of his team’s Round of 32 clash against Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following a 3-1 victory over Tunisia in the final match of Group F.
The win secured the Netherlands the top spot in the group with seven points, setting up a highly anticipated knockout match against Morocco, who finished second in Group C. The encounter is scheduled to take place in Monterrey, Mexico.
The Dutch side took control early in the match, opening the scoring through an own goal by Tunisia’s Elyes Skhiri before Brian Brobbey doubled the lead. Hazem Mastouri pulled one back for Tunisia in the second half, but Jan Paul van Hecke restored the two-goal advantage to seal the victory.
Speaking after the match, Koeman described the result as a comfortable win, highlighting that his team earned all three points without suffering injuries, suspensions or disciplinary issues. He also praised his players’ performance, saying they deserved to finish at the top of the group.
Looking ahead to the Morocco match, Koeman acknowledged the strength of the Atlas Lions, describing them as a talented and competitive team. He added that the Netherlands are fully prepared for the challenge and remain focused on advancing further in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
