Due to Her Son’s Illness, Zineb Simo Misses Parliamentary Session and Reveals Planned Question on Begging

    ayaJune 22, 2026

Member of Parliament Zineb Simo announced today that she was forced to miss the proceedings of the House of Representatives because of her son Adnan’s illness, despite having planned to attend the session and take part in the discussion and vote on Article 193 of the draft Labour Code legislation.

In a post published on her social media account, Simo explained that she had also scheduled an oral question concerning the issue of begging in Morocco, amid what she described as a “worrying rise” in the phenomenon across several Moroccan cities.

She added that the issue forms part of a number of social concerns that require clear answers and practical solutions, given their impact on society and on the image of public spaces.

The parliamentarian concluded her message by expressing regret at being unable to attend the session, wishing her son a speedy recovery, and reaffirming her commitment to continuing to follow and defend issues of concern to citizens within the legislative institution.
