Judicial police services in Casablanca and Salé carried out separate security operations on June 16, resulting in the seizure of 86,711 firecrackers and pyrotechnic items, as well as the detention of five individuals under investigation for their alleged involvement in the possession and distribution of these combustible materials.
According to available information, the first operation in Salé led to the detention of two individuals aged 37 and 56, while search and inspection procedures resulted in the seizure of 39,595 firecrackers and 161 pyrotechnic flares.
A second operation conducted in the Rahma district of Casablanca resulted in the detention of two additional individuals aged 24 and 34, with authorities seizing 39,855 firecrackers and a sum of money currently being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
A third operation carried out in the Aïn Sebaâ-Hay Mohammadi area led to the detention of a fifth suspect and the seizure of an additional 7,100 firecrackers.
The detained individuals were placed at the disposal of the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutors, with the aim of determining all circumstances surrounding these cases and identifying any potential links related to the activities under investigation.
