Member of Parliament Maimoun Amiri has called for concrete measures to boost economic development in Zagora Province through the establishment of industrial units capable of creating employment opportunities for local youth.
Speaking during an intervention addressed to Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills Younes Sekkouri, the lawmaker highlighted the employment challenges facing the province.
According to Amiri, limited job opportunities have encouraged many young people to seek professional prospects outside the region and, in some cases, abroad in search of better opportunities.
He also pointed to demographic data showing that Zagora Province recorded a decline of more than 40,000 residents between 2014 and 2024, describing the figure as an indication of the economic and social challenges facing the area.
The parliamentarian stressed the importance of attracting industrial investment and launching productive projects that could stimulate the local economy, create jobs and support sustainable development efforts in Zagora.
