A forum highlighting the main strategic priorities and recent developments of Morocco’s Exchange Office was held on Tuesday in Tangier, bringing together business leaders, economic institutions, and banking sector representatives from the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.
Organized by the regional branch of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises in partnership with the Exchange Office, the event featured training workshops and discussions focused on foreign exchange regulations and international business operations.
Topics addressed during the forum included the digitalization of Exchange Office services, foreign exchange compliance and monitoring procedures, as well as international e-commerce and related exchange regulations.
Speaking at the event, Omar El Kaddaoui, President of the regional CGEM branch, said the initiative aims to support companies as they navigate major economic transformations, including expanding international trade, rapid digitalization, and the emergence of new business models.
The program included practical workshops that allowed participants to engage directly with Exchange Office experts and receive guidance on professional concerns, alongside a plenary session dedicated to presenting the institution’s latest strategic priorities and regulatory updates.
Mohamed Benmokhtar, head of the regional CGEM’s Tax and Legal Committee, emphasized the importance of maintaining dialogue with economic stakeholders in a constantly evolving business environment.
For his part, Younes Bouchlekha, Director of Legislation and Litigation at the Exchange Office, said the meeting provided an opportunity to listen to businesses, identify operational challenges, and gather proposals aimed at improving the foreign exchange framework.
The event also included a general session dedicated to presenting the latest developments and strategic directions of the Exchange Office, in addition to the ordinary general assembly of the regional CGEM branch.
