Security services operating under the Beni Makada police district in Tangier carried out a series of security operations on the evening of June 8, resulting in the arrest of several individuals across a number of neighborhoods in the city.
The operations involved officers from local police districts, judicial police units, the anti-gang brigade, and public security investigation teams. The activities focused on the neighborhoods of Kiran, Bir Chifa, Korziana, Bouhout, and other surrounding areas.
According to available information, the operations led to the arrest of several individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal cases. Among them were persons allegedly caught in the act in cases related to drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as individuals who were the subject of active search warrants.
Police officers also conducted identity checks and security screenings involving nearly 100 people in public spaces and venues that remained open late into the night.
The operations further resulted in the seizure of several motorcycles found to be in violation of applicable regulations.
Adult suspects were placed under police custody, while minors were kept under observation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, pending the outcome of ongoing investigations.
The operations form part of broader efforts aimed at strengthening public safety, maintaining public order, and protecting people and property across Tangier’s neighborhoods.
