Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an orange-level weather alert warning of a strong heatwave expected to affect several provinces across the country in the coming days.
According to official forecasts, temperatures are expected to range between 41°C and 44°C, particularly in southern and southeastern regions, where significantly hotter conditions are anticipated.
The provinces concerned include Errachidia, Zagora and Tata, as well as Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Aousserd and Oued Eddahab, where the highest temperatures are forecast during the period covered by the alert.
Authorities have advised residents to take the necessary precautions to minimize the effects of extreme heat, especially during peak daytime hours, and to follow official weather updates for the latest information.
