Local authorities in Tangier are continuing operations aimed at clearing beaches and addressing unauthorized occupation of coastal public spaces, as part of preparations for the 2026 summer season and the expected influx of visitors.
According to information reported by informed sources, several enforcement campaigns have been carried out across beaches in Tangier and surrounding areas. These operations resulted in the seizure of hundreds of chairs and tables that were being used in unregulated rental activities, with the objective of preserving public access to beach areas.
The same sources indicated that Tangier’s urban district alone recorded 13 field operations so far, leading to the seizure of approximately 800 plastic chairs as part of efforts to limit unauthorized use of coastal spaces.
These measures come within a broader framework of actions undertaken by the competent authorities to strengthen monitoring of the maritime public domain, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and improve conditions for beachgoers and tourists during the summer season.
