Rabat hosted the opening of the Executive Leadership Program in Cybersecurity on Monday, bringing together members of the Cyber Incident Response Team of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities as part of a continental initiative focused on strengthening digital security cooperation.
The event, which runs until June 5, 2026, is organized with the support of Morocco’s General Directorate for Information Systems Security and gathers senior government officials, cybersecurity experts, decision-makers, executives and representatives of regional and international organizations.
The program aims to enhance African cooperation in cybersecurity while developing leadership skills and institutional capacities needed to address the challenges associated with the continent’s accelerating digital transformation.
Discussions focus on key issues such as cyber governance, digital resilience, cyber crisis management, capacity building and the reinforcement of regional and international cooperation mechanisms.
The initiative benefits from the contribution of several leading institutional partners, including the International Telecommunication Union, CREST and the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams. Its content is aligned with the five pillars of the Global Cybersecurity Index, an internationally recognized benchmark for assessing cybersecurity readiness.
The event takes place at a time when African countries are increasingly prioritizing cybersecurity in response to growing digital risks. It also highlights Morocco’s role in supporting regional cooperation and the development of a more secure and resilient digital ecosystem across the continent.
