Construction works on the high-speed rail line linking Kenitra and Marrakech are continuing as part of a major infrastructure project aimed at strengthening Morocco’s transport network and improving connectivity between key economic and tourism hubs.
According to available information, the project is progressing steadily, with completion and operational launch expected in September 2029 following the conclusion of all construction and technical development phases.
One of the main anticipated benefits of the new line is the reduction of travel time between Rabat and Marrakech to approximately one hour and forty minutes, making rail travel faster and more convenient for passengers.
The project forms part of Morocco’s broader strategy to invest in modern transportation infrastructure and support the country’s economic and tourism development.
The future high-speed rail connection is also expected to strengthen links between major cities, facilitate mobility, encourage investment, and further reinforce Morocco’s position as a regional transport and logistics hub in Africa.
