Moroccan engineers have developed a free application called Dwacheck, designed to provide consumers with access to information about medicines available on the national market, including pharmacy prices, reimbursement rates and product availability.
The application allows users to search for medicines either by name or barcode, while offering structured and regularly updated information related to pharmaceutical products in Morocco.
Among the available data are details concerning reimbursement through Morocco’s mandatory health insurance system, public sale prices and reference pricing adopted within healthcare coverage schemes. The platform also provides information about whether a medicine is original or generic, in addition to technical references and equivalent generic alternatives when available.
According to the developers, the initiative aims to simplify access to pharmaceutical information and improve transparency by centralizing data usually distributed across multiple official sources into a single and user-friendly digital platform.
