Morocco is continuing to strengthen its presence in future-oriented industries with the upcoming launch of the “Gotion Power Morocco” factory in Kenitra province, which is expected to begin operations later this year.
The large-scale industrial project marks a significant step in the development of the electric vehicle sector, as Morocco is expected to become the first country in Africa and the Middle East to manufacture electric vehicle batteries within a gigafactory-type industrial unit.
Located near the industrial zone of Kenitra, the project reflects the Kingdom’s growing focus on electric mobility, renewable energy industries and advanced industrial technologies.
The factory is also expected to support Morocco’s energy transition efforts by encouraging clean industries and strengthening the electric mobility ecosystem, while creating new jobs and improving the competitiveness of the national economy.
This investment is part of Morocco’s industrial strategy aimed at developing the automotive and renewable energy sectors, while reinforcing the country’s position as an industrial and logistics hub connecting European and African markets.
