Police officers from the Sidi Bernoussi security district in Casablanca seized 692,000 units of smuggled medicines and pharmaceutical products on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, and arrested four individuals suspected of involvement in their possession and distribution.
According to a security source, the suspects were caught in the act of possessing and selling illegally imported pharmaceutical products allegedly intended for weight gain purposes.
Search and seizure operations led to the discovery of large quantities of medical tablets and ointments, in addition to the seizure of two vehicles suspected of being used to facilitate these activities.
Investigators also confiscated sums of money in Moroccan and European currencies believed to be linked to the proceeds of the suspected criminal activity.
Three of the suspects were placed in police custody, while the fourth remains under judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the full circumstances of the case and identify any possible wider connections.
