A Polish citizen identified as “Thomas” announced his conversion to Islam at the Karkariya Zawiya, during a gathering attended by Sheikh Mohamed Faouzi Al Karkari, according to information shared about the event.
Available details indicate that Thomas holds a master’s degree in philosophy and previously worked for a Christian publishing house in Poland, before beginning a personal spiritual journey focused on the search for meaning and the exploration of Sufism, which eventually brought him to Morocco.
During the occasion, he was given the name “Abdallah” as part of his conversion to Islam, in the presence of visitors and followers of the Karkariya order.
The event comes amid the growing international presence of the Karkariya Sufi order, which has in recent years attracted visitors and individuals interested in spirituality and Sufism from several European and North American countries.
Observers of religious and cultural affairs note that Moroccan Sufi institutions continue to play a role in spiritual and intercultural dialogue through initiatives centered on coexistence, openness and peaceful exchange.
