Local authorities in Tangier carried out a field campaign on Tuesday, May 12, targeting the presence of livestock and horses in urban areas, particularly horses being used along the municipal beach, in the neighborhoods of Charaf and Mghogha Sghira.
The operation started at 8 a.m. and involved 25 members of the auxiliary forces, 18 local authority officers from several administrative annexes, and one judicial police officer. Three trucks and a goods transport vehicle were also mobilized for the campaign.
According to available information, the operation resulted in the seizure of 12 horses and the confiscation of 10 saddles, which were transferred to the municipal impound facility in Asilah.
The same sources stated that some tension occurred during the intervention in the Charaf area, while authorities continued the operation in accordance with existing legal procedures.
The campaign ended around 10 a.m. as part of ongoing efforts aimed at regulating urban spaces and monitoring activities related to horse exploitation within the city.
