Calls Grow for a Morgue in Skhirat Amid Residents’ Concerns

    ayaMay 9, 2026

Residents of Skhirat continue to call for the establishment of a morgue in the city amid the absence of such a health facility despite the growing population of the area and nearby communities.

According to several matching testimonies, families of deceased individuals are often required to travel to Rabat or to Lalla Aicha Hospital in Temara in order to complete procedures related to body preservation and administrative documentation, creating additional burdens for the concerned families.

Sources described as informed stated that the emergency department in Skhirat has for some time been equipped with facilities linked to such a service, although the project has not yet become operational, raising local questions regarding the reasons behind the delay.

Local actors and residents are continuing to urge the relevant authorities to accelerate the establishment of a morgue in Skhirat, considering it an essential public health service for the city and surrounding areas.
