A Chinese delegation from Fujian Province visited the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region on Thursday to explore its cultural and heritage potential and discuss opportunities for cultural cooperation between the two sides.
The delegation, led by Xiao Zhangbi, deputy director of the Culture and Tourism Administration of Fujian Province, met with Omar Moro, president of the Regional Council of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, during a meeting focused on presenting the region’s cultural assets, including its diverse tangible and intangible heritage and its strategic geographic location linking Africa and Europe.
According to a statement issued by the regional council, the meeting also reviewed several initiatives aimed at promoting the cultural sector, including support for festivals and cultural events, rehabilitation of historic medinas, restoration of historical landmarks, and development of cultural infrastructure and creative industries.
The visit comes amid growing relations between Morocco and China and forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural and civilizational exchanges between the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and Fujian Province.
