The appearance of the Israeli flag during an educational activity at Qaâ Asras High School in Chefchaouen province has sparked widespread debate on social media, following the circulation of images showing students participating in a diplomatic simulation במסגרת the Model United Nations program.
In response, the provincial directorate of the Ministry of Education stated that the activity is part of a pedagogical workshop aimed at helping students understand how international institutions operate, by simulating sessions of the General Assembly and the Security Council with representations of different countries.
The directorate explained that representing all member states, including those involved in international conflicts, is part of the structure of such activities, noting that the presence of the Israeli flag falls within this educational framework and does not reflect any political stance.
According to the same information, the simulation focused on the Palestinian issue, with students taking on roles to debate peace efforts and rights advocacy within discussions reflecting international balances.
Students from several schools participated in the activity under educational supervision, as part of a program designed to enhance dialogue and critical thinking skills.
Despite the official clarification, discussions continue online, with differing views on the nature of the activity and the sensitivity of certain symbols in school settings.
