Guinea has expressed its sincere gratitude to Morocco, as Foreign Affairs Minister Morissanda Kouyaté thanked King Mohammed VI following a humanitarian operation that enabled the return of dozens of Guinean nationals to their home country, according to a statement to the Moroccan News Agency.
The minister stated that the first group of nationals arrived at Conakry International Airport aboard a Royal Air Maroc flight from Dakhla, as part of a voluntary return operation, commending the efforts made by Moroccan authorities to assist these individuals, described as victims of a shipwreck in the Kingdom’s territorial waters.
He also highlighted the bilateral relations between Morocco and Guinea, describing them as strong, deep, and historical, and pointing to ongoing efforts by both countries’ leaders to strengthen cooperation.
According to the same source, additional voluntary return operations are expected in the coming days, potentially raising the total number of beneficiaries to around 360 people, while medical and psychological support has been provided to facilitate their reintegration.
