Three years in prison for a Generation Z movement activist in Casablanca

    ayaApril 24, 2026

The Court of First Instance in Casablanca sentenced an activist linked to the so-called “Generation Z” movement to three years in prison, in a case related to protests that took place in the city in recent months.

According to case details, the individual was prosecuted on charges including incitement to commit crimes and offenses, as well as insulting constitutional institutions, leading to pretrial detention.

Reports indicate that he was arrested at his home on February 16, 2026, with electronic devices seized, before being brought before the public prosecutor on February 19, where it was decided to prosecute him in custody until the verdict was issued.

The case is part of a broader set of legal proceedings related to recent protests in Casablanca.
