The city of Rabat will host the eighth national conference on the Arabic language on April 29 and 30, 2026, organized by the National Coalition for the Arabic Language, with the participation of researchers from Morocco and several African countries, and with Chad as the guest of honor.

The conference is held under the theme of developing a national strategy to promote the Arabic language, in partnership with several institutions, including the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, the International University of Africa in Sudan, the Higher Council for the Arabic Language in Africa in Chad, and the Allal El Fassi Foundation, with sessions taking place at Bahnini Hall in Rabat.

According to the organizers, the event will serve as an academic platform to examine the state of the Arabic language in Africa and discuss its challenges through lectures and discussions led by scholars from Morocco and abroad.

The program also includes honoring several figures and initiatives, including Dr. Al Khalil Al Nahwi as Personality of the Year, journalist Ahmed Fal Eddine for his program African Stories, journalist and writer Majdouline Ben Cherif, and recognition of Chad for its efforts in promoting the Arabic language.
