Police in the Bni Makada district of Tangier arrested a 31-year-old man with a prior criminal record on suspicion of involvement in street robberies and targeting passersby.
According to available information, the suspect was apprehended in the Houmat Al Haddad neighborhood following repeated complaints from residents reporting incidents of robbery and harassment in public spaces, with preliminary findings indicating that the individual allegedly targeted pedestrians in alleyways and took their belongings under threat, creating a sense of fear among locals.
A search carried out as part of the investigation led to the seizure of a Sanya motorcycle suspected to be linked to criminal activity, as well as a quantity of a substance identified as Silision.
The suspect has been placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, in order to determine the full extent of the alleged acts and clarify the circumstances of the case.
