The Spanish Civil Guard thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 800 kilograms of cannabis resin at the Bab Sebta border crossing, following the arrest of a woman driving a motorhome at the Tarajal crossing in Ceuta.
According to local media reports, the vehicle was subjected to a thorough inspection as part of routine checks on transport coming from Morocco, leading to the discovery of a hidden compartment carefully built into the vehicle’s structure to conceal the drugs.
The operation resulted in the seizure of the drugs and the vehicle used in the smuggling attempt, while the suspect was placed under investigation under the supervision of the competent Spanish authorities.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the case and to identify any potential links to organized networks involved in cross-border drug trafficking.
