The President of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssef, praised the Tangier-Med port platform, describing it as a “world-class” facility and expressing admiration for the level of excellence it has achieved.
During his visit, the African official met with the Director General of the Tangier-Med Special Agency, Mehdi Tazi Rifi, who presented an overview of the port’s various infrastructures and operational performance.
In a statement to the press, the African Commission President expressed great satisfaction with the visit, noting that the port’s facilities are world-class and were completed in a record time, stating that this success reflects the forward-looking vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and highlighting the competence of the port’s human resources.
He also praised the level of performance achieved by the port, as presented by the Director General, considering that the future of this infrastructure will continue to prosper, and extended congratulations on behalf of the African Union Commission to all teams overseeing this project.
The visit took place within the framework of his participation in the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, organized as part of the 58th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, held from March 28 to April 3 in Tangier.
