Three Judges in Pretrial Detention Spark Questions Over Judicial Integrity

    ayaApril 3, 2026

An investigating judge at the Court of Appeal in Rabat has ordered the pretrial detention of three judges as part of an ongoing judicial investigation into suspected brokerage and trafficking of court rulings, according to available information indicating that the case is still under review.

According to the available data, the judges concerned were serving at the Courts of Appeal in El Jadida and Safi, where investigations are focusing on suspected interventions in exchange for money and possible influence over the handling of certain judicial cases, pending official findings.

This case has reignited debate حول the integrity of the judicial system, amid calls to strengthen transparency mechanisms and accountability in order to maintain public trust in justice institutions.

Investigations are continuing under the supervision of the competent authorities to determine all circumstances surrounding the case and uncover any potential extensions, in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
