A man in his thirties died in the early hours of Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Tangier, after sustaining serious injuries from a fall at Sour Al Maâkazine square, according to preliminary information.
Reports indicate that the victim was intoxicated and sitting at the location at dawn when a group of minors in a street situation passed nearby, and one of them pushed him, causing a violent fall that resulted in severe head injuries.
He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later died, while security services launched an investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
Within a short time, police arrested the main suspect, a 19-year-old, following intensive search efforts that led to his identification and capture.
The suspect has been placed in police custody as investigations continue to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
