Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Gohar Nabil, received Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football, in Cairo on Saturday ahead of upcoming executive committee meetings.
According to official sources, Motsepe conveyed a message of appreciation from Cyril Ramaphosa to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Motsepe is expected to chair CAF executive meetings at its Cairo headquarters, where several football-related issues will be discussed.
A key topic includes reviewing the decision declaring the Morocco national team as Africa Cup of Nations champions, while the Senegal national team is considered withdrawn with a three-nil loss.
