Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, stated that protecting the rights of Moroccan citizens living abroad, particularly in Spain, against racially motivated attacks remains a priority in the country’s foreign policy.
In a written response بشأن the protection of Moroccans residing in Spain, he explained that the ministry adopts an approach based on supporting victims and assisting them through the necessary procedures, while also maintaining communication with authorities in host countries and activating bilateral coordination mechanisms when needed.
He added that the Moroccan embassy in Madrid, in coordination with consular services across Spain, ensures immediate engagement with any incidents of a racist nature targeting Moroccan nationals, by undertaking the necessary actions to safeguard their rights and dignity.
This comes within broader diplomatic efforts aimed at monitoring and addressing challenges faced by Moroccan communities abroad, particularly in relation to discrimination.
