Tangier Archdiocese Wins Final Court Ruling in Dispute with Alhambra SARL

    adminFebruary 21, 2026

The Archdiocese of Tangier announced on February 17 that it had received official notification of a final judicial ruling bringing to an end the civil dispute that had opposed it to Alhambra SARL, the company promoting the “Alhambra School” in Tangier.

In a statement, the Archdiocese said the notification was conveyed through its lawyer, Mr. Ibrahim Semlali, confirming that the decision was rendered in its favor and strengthens its legal position in the case.

The ruling was issued by the Court of Cassation in Rabat, the Kingdom’s highest judicial authority. The court rejected the appeal filed by the defendant company and upheld the validity of the arguments presented by the Archdiocese, as well as the legitimacy of the legal action concerning the nullity of the contract concluded between the two parties.

The Archdiocese, represented by its Archbishop, Monsignor Emilio Rocha Grande, reaffirmed in its statement its commitment to the rule of law and the principles of transparency, while renewing its dedication to continuing its pastoral mission in service of all members of society.

The statement also emphasized the importance of fostering coexistence and dialogue with the Moroccan people, particularly in a context coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, a period marked by spiritual significance and a call for tolerance and solidarity.
