Safran’s new aircraft engine complex in Nouaceur strengthens Morocco’s position among emerging aerospace powers – British Portal

The new aircraft engine industrial complex of the Safran Group, to be built in Nouaceur, strengthens Morocco’s position among the emerging powers of the global aerospace industry, commented British portal The International Business Times (IBT).

As reported by MAP, the portal, which serves as a platform for the British business community, noted that the complex, whose construction was launched on Monday by King Mohammed VI, “signals the wider economic trajectory in which the Kingdom is engaged, one that links advanced industry with youth employment.”

With this new complex, Morocco is entering a new phase of its industrial expansion, IBT said, adding that the project will make the Kingdom the world’s second-largest producer of LEAP aircraft engines.

“More than a manufacturing expansion, the programme signals Morocco’s entry into the core of global aviation value chains,” the British portal continued, stressing that global giants such as Safran, Boeing, and Airbus now view the Kingdom not merely as a production base but as a reliable technological partner.

“This reflects two decades of industrial planning,” IBT pointed out, highlighting the numerous industrial zones established across different regions of the Kingdom. These zones demonstrate how Morocco has successfully aligned youth skills, infrastructure, and international partnerships to drive inclusive industrialization.

The portal also underlined that Morocco’s aerospace capabilities make it one of the few countries capable of hosting advanced technological production complexes—a sector linked not only to job creation but also to innovation.

These developments have allowed Morocco to assert itself strongly within European and British supply chains, IBT explained, recalling the Kingdom’s notable economic progress, particularly the strengthening of investments in various sectors, including infrastructure.

All these advances have contributed to improving the country’s sovereign rating and its economic growth prospects for the years ahead, the portal concluded.
