Casablanca — Career experts and industry executives gathered today at Dar America to examine the role of American university degrees in Morocco’s evolving job market, as part of the “Moroccan Voices, American Degrees: Alumni in Action” networking event.
The panel “US Degrees in the Moroccan Job Market” brought together two prominent business leaders to share their perspectives on how American higher education impacts career prospects for Moroccan professionals.
Naoufel Jellal, CEO of Les Eaux Minerales d’Oulmes, and Jalal Charaf, General Director of Ecole Centrale Casablanca, participated in the discussion moderated by Manal Elattir, founder of the Womenomics Institute.
The panel addressed key questions facing Moroccan students considering American universities: how local employers perceive US degrees, what competitive advantages they provide, and how graduates can effectively leverage their international education in the domestic job market.
Jellal’s leadership of one of Morocco’s established beverage companies provides insights into how traditional industries value international education and the skills that American university graduates bring to established Moroccan businesses.
Charaf’s role at Ecole Centrale Casablanca, an engineering institution, provides insight into how American educational methodologies influence the development of Morocco’s technical education sector and the preparation of future engineers and technical professionals.
The discussion was facilitated by Elattir, whose work through the Womenomics Institute focuses on women’s economic empowerment and leadership development, bringing a crucial perspective on how gender intersects with educational and career opportunities.

More than 50 Moroccan alumni of US universities attended the day-long event, which is designed to strengthen professional networks and create opportunities for mentoring and collaboration.
According to organizers, the gathering will inform the development of a future alumni leadership platform that aims to maintain and enhance connections between Moroccan graduates of American institutions and foster continued educational and professional exchange between Morocco and the US.
