A professional journalist reported the theft of his mobile phone late Friday night in the city of Tangier while covering public celebrations following Morocco’s victory over Scotland.
According to available information, the incident took place on Mohammed VI Avenue near the Vintage Café in the Malabata area. Two individuals riding a motorcycle allegedly took the phone before leaving the scene, taking advantage of the large crowds gathered to celebrate the match result.
The journalist involved is Abdelmalek El Aaqel, publisher of the online news outlet “Al Boughaz News” and a journalist with “Al Yaoum24”, who was present at the location as part of his professional assignment.
Following notification of the incident, the competent security services recorded the journalist’s statement in an official report and launched an investigation aimed at establishing the circumstances surrounding the case and identifying any individuals who may have been involved.
