Morocco’s High Authority for Audiovisual Communication renewed the authorization granted to Tanger Med Port Authority to operate a temporary radio station dedicated to supporting Operation Marhaba 2026 from May 1 to October 31, 2026.
According to the decision issued by the Higher Council for Audiovisual Communication, the request was submitted on February 27, 2026, and reviewed in accordance with the legal framework governing the audiovisual sector, following approval from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency on March 12, 2026.
The authorization allows broadcasting on the FM frequency of 100 MHz to provide information and guidance services for travelers participating in Operation Marhaba 2026, particularly through Tangier Med Port.
The decision also requires the temporary suspension of broadcasts during the official campaign period for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for September, in line with legal provisions governing neutrality and equal opportunities during electoral processes.
The seasonal radio service is intended to support travelers by providing practical information and assistance, as part of the broader measures implemented each year during Operation Marhaba.
