Security services in the city of Ksar El Kebir opened a judicial investigation on Friday under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, following a case involving suspected sexual assault within a family setting.
According to preliminary information, a young woman filed an official complaint accusing her husband’s father of assaulting her inside the family home, prompting security authorities to intervene and launch an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
Judicial police officers, along with scientific and technical investigation units affiliated with the Ksar El Kebir police commissioner’s office, carried out field investigations and forensic procedures under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Tangier Court of Appeal.
The complainant underwent the necessary medical examinations and forensic assessments as part of the judicial investigation, while the 67-year-old suspect was placed in police custody pending the continuation of investigative procedures.
The suspect is expected to be referred to the competent judicial authorities once the ongoing investigation is completed, in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
