Morocco’s current agricultural season is expected to yield a strong cereal harvest, supported by April rainfall that improved crop conditions and growth.
The rains contributed to grain filling and supported spring and rainfed crops, raising optimism among farmers after several dry seasons.
According to the Regional Agricultural Advisory Directorate of Fes Meknes, the Fes Meknes Region recorded about 688.9 mm of rainfall by the end of April.
Planted areas reached 97 percent of planned levels, with expected yields ranging between 25 and 60 quintals per hectare.
Total production could reach around 3 million tons, compared to 1.5 million tons last season.
