The city of Salé witnessed, on the morning of Wednesday, April 15, a police intervention that resulted in the arrest of an individual suspected of involvement in an attempted homicide targeting his elderly mother, according to available information.
According to the same sources, public security officers, supported by units from the old medina district and in coordination with the Sidi Moussa district, apprehended the suspect following his alleged involvement in an assault with a bladed weapon against his mother, identified as Fatima AZ, in incidents that occurred during the morning.
The available details further indicate that the individual, who was reportedly in an abnormal state, is also suspected of forcibly entering a neighbor’s home under threat and holding family members inside using a large knife, which was seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
The suspect, identified as Hassan M, is reported to have prior judicial records related to assault, theft, and carrying weapons, and has been handed over to the competent security services of the Sidi Moussa district, in preparation for referral to the judicial police brigade in Salé medina, under the supervision of the public prosecutor at the Rabat Court of Appeal, as part of the continuing investigation into the case.
