The Youth for Peace and Dialogue of Cultures Organization announced the official inclusion of Oujda in the International Network of Peace Cities, marking a step ضمن initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue, coexistence, and community peace at the global level.
With this development, Oujda becomes the 468th city worldwide to join the network, which brings together cities committed to fostering peace, social cohesion, and intercultural dialogue.
According to available information, this recognition follows a series of programs carried out by the organization focusing on youth empowerment, human rights education, and the promotion of tolerance through field and educational initiatives in Morocco’s eastern region.
In a statement, Zakaria El Hamel highlighted that the inclusion reflects sustained efforts in promoting peace education and community engagement.
The organization also announced plans to host a Mediterranean forum of peace cities in Oujda, expected to gather experts and stakeholders to discuss regional cooperation and the role of cities in promoting stability.
Located in eastern Morocco, Oujda is known for its cultural diversity, which positions it as a suitable environment for initiatives related to dialogue and coexistence.
