Sevilla FC Reportedly Signs Hakim Ziyech on One-Year Deal Sevilla FC Reportedly Signs Hakim Ziyech on One-Year Deal

Rabat – Sevilla FC has secured the signing of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech on a one-year contract, with an additional year option based on performance, Vamos Mi Sevilla reported today.

LaLiga still allows clubs to register free agents, as long as there are available spots in the squad, added the platform.

For Sevilla FC, all 25 squad numbers are currently taken. This means the club would need to release a player to make room for a new signing, Vamos Mi Sevilla says.

The player likely to leave is third-choice goalkeeper Alvaro Fernández. Sevilla is reportedly working quickly to finalize his exit, which would allow them to bring in a new player.

Ziyech has been identified as the target. According to journalist Silvia Chaparros, the club and the 32-year-old Moroccan have already reached an agreement. The contract is reportedly for one season, with an option for a second based on performance.

The footballer is reportedly eager to join a team quickly.

The 32-year-old winger joins from Al-Duhail in Qatar, where he had a brief tenure after leaving Galatasaray earlier this year.

Prior to his move to Sevilla, Ziyech had been actively seeking a new club. Reports indicated that Elche CF had shown interest in signing him on a free transfer, with negotiations reportedly at an advanced stage.

In the summer of 2025, Ziyech was also linked with a return to Morocco, with Wydad Casablanca expressing interest in bringing him back to the Moroccan league.

A move to Sevilla would be a strategic step to enhance his prospects of being included in Morocco’s squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup. His recent absence from the national team was attributed to a lack of match readiness, rather than any disagreement with coach Walid Regragui.
